Lesley Millward is a Baby and Children's Sign Language instructor, who has been using her training in American Sign Language (ASL) for the past 8 years. She uses ASL to teach families of hearing babies and children to use sign language as a means of communication.
Lesley and her husband Matt used sign language to communicate with both children when they were only months old. Although both of thier children are hearing, they each started using sign language at about 8 months old to help them communicate with "words". They both continue to use their knowledge of sign language to assist them in their daily activities. Although Lesley uses her experience to teach hearing babies and children, she also has a background in working with children that are deaf. She specializes in working with children with special needs, behavioral difficulties and speech delays. She uses this to assist her in implementing sign language in the day to day activities of the families that she encounters.
Lesley believes that every family should provide their child with the gift of early communication by giving them a "Signing Start".
